1. How jersey sizing works
Most US sports jerseys (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL) are sized by chest circumference in inches and labelled S, M, L, XL, 2XL and 3XL. Authentic and player-edition cuts are tailored to an athletic build and sit closer to the body, so they feel one size smaller than a replica of the same label. Soccer shirts are sized on a centimetre chest scale (XS–2XL) and follow a slimmer European fit.
Rule of thumb: measure your chest just under the arms, match it to the chart for your league, and if you are between two sizes or plan to layer a hoodie underneath, choose the larger size.

7. Men vs women vs youth fits
Women’s jerseys are shaped for a narrower waist and shorter torso; if a women’s cut isn’t listed, most fans wear the men’s size one down. Youth jerseys follow age-based sizing and are cut shorter and narrower:
